Refuge

Refuge is safe temporary accommodation for both single women and women with children, who are fleeing domestic abuse.  It is a safe place for you to stay whilst you make decisions about your future.  Whilst in refuge you will receive practical and emotional support from our qualified refuge workers.  We have a 24 hour, 365 days a year out of hours emergency support service.   

We can accommodate five families at any one time.  The facilities are roomy and pleasant and are fully equipped to meet your needs.  Whilst in our refuge you will have your own bedroom with a communal lounge, kitchen, laundry room, children’s play room and bathrooms/shower rooms.  One bedroom is designed for wheelchair access.  

Outside we have a garden with children’s play equipment, hard surface play areas and flowers/borders.  Our Child & Family Coordinator concentrates on supporting  all children ensuring their time in refuge includes indoor/outdoor activities and therapy through play.  Older children also have the opportunity for confidential one to one support.
